One year ago today Mason Hart Marshall was born. My dear friends Amy and Mark had to endure a pain that no parent should ever have to endure. He was born sleeping as many of you know. They showed such strength and faith throughout the entire ordeal and continue to do so. Amy decided to commemorate his life by throwing a birthday party for him today. Their family will be planting a tree in his honor and releasing balloons for him "to play with". They will then have birthday cupcakes.
Emily's teacher told Amy that yesterday at show and tell Emily shared her "Happy Birthday Mason" song. That's not the traditional one, it's her own rendition. She's been perfecting it and decided to share it at school yesterday. With Emily at 5 years and Solon only 3, this will help them to know Mason Hart and to know that they have a brother. Amy is so wise and she amazes me at how she handles it. That family is being blessed every day and they may not even realize it as it's happening. She's a blessing and together they're learning to embrace missing Mason. God Bless them. Geez, he already has. Nobody thought that a year ago though.
