Ok, so on Friday, I found out that a fellow mother of 5 yr old twins, world has just been turned upside down. She has JP and Dale, fraternal boys who are 6 months older than Mason and Madison. We saw each other in early Sept. and exchanged tonsil/adenoid removal surgeries about JP, Mason, and Jack Broughton. Stacey Watson is her name and she used to live across the street from Stacey Broughton, Jack and Caroline's mom.
So, she says JP's adenoids were removed and a mass/fatty tumor?/enlarged adenoids were back there and they removed that too. Well, that's not all that it turned out to be. She found out on Friday morning that he has non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Bone marrow came back clear so far and it's isolated to the one lymph area is what they're thinking.
Pray for them please. He's having a PET scan in the morning and that will determine more of what they are looking at. For now they think he's looking at six months of chemo numerous times a week. They are at Fairfax hospital which is about 80 miles away from home.
Dang this disease! God got my attention about two years ago and changed my outlook on my children as far as being more gracious and thankful for them. I'M HEARING HIM LOUD AND CLEAR!!! Don't get me wrong, I've always been thankful for them but it's just in a much different light now.
Stacey's mom and stepdad are staying at the Ronald McDonald House at Fairfax Hospital. Stacey and JP will eventually stay as well I would guess. This will be the second mother from our Fredericksburg Area Mothers of Multiples Club to live in that house in the past year. Manda and Jason, Aleah's mom and dad lived there for 6 months. They are trick or treating for the House. They are collecting items off the wish list to supply the house for families who live there. If you would like to look at the list and donate even one small thing, please let me know. I will get it from you and be responsible for getting it up there. On top of Aleah's death in February, Manda and Jason are expecting again and they just found out that her cervix is thinning and she is on bedrest. Due to that, I will be glad to help collect things and take them up there.
