The Latest Medical News

We've had a busy week with the boys in our family. Mason was finally diagnosed yesterday with sinusitis. That sounds really crazy to think that it's just a sinus infection after all the crazy symptoms he was having! Today is his first day back to school since coming home last Wednesday. He had terrible headaches, vomiting, neck pain, and high fevers. At the highest he went to 105.1! We had blood drawn on Friday and Saturday. He's been on Omnicef, a strong antibiotic, since Friday night. He finally had a head CT of his sinuses done yesterday and that showed what Dr. Bradshaw suspected. Sinusitis, Maxillary....blah blah medical jargon...no abscesses, no structural problems, that's mainly what stood out to me! He's to be on the antibiotic for possibly up to 21 days but definitely 10 (5 more from today). He seems to be on the mend.

As for Tracy, he was diagnosed with Mild Obstructive Sleep Apnea. He has a consult appointment with the sleep specialist/pulmonologist? for June 4. He recommended a trial with the CPAP but our physician wanted us to meet with the specialist who conducted the study first. So that's the next step.

Oh, and Mason's surgery is rescheduled for June 3. It could happen on May 27 if any cancellations come in. So we hurry up and wait. Thanks for all your calls and prayers.
