I think I've posted with that title before. Emma was sick with a virus. Now Madison has it. I have forbidden Mason to go near them. We've been making lots of cards. They are so sweet. Madison writes on hers "You be saf." "Bles You." Mason wrote, " I hop you win". He made a picture of a soldier with a gun. He wanted to know if they use swords. Such a boy. Emma makes lots of suns and grass and heads with legs sticking out of the bottom. :o) And her rendition of her name. They are such loving and compassionate children.
An update on the cards: my friend Amy is heading up the card drive at Riverview Elementary. The enrollment there is 709 students! Whoa! I'm working on having cards ready to take with us to Washington, D.C. on Sunday. We're riding to the Vietnam Wall. Last year we parked along Constitution Ave. and sorta picnicked all day. We walked around and down to the Memorials. We saw lots of people and were with lots of people so I plan to have plenty of cards for people to prepare.
Remember the sacrifices that our Veterans have made today, this weekend, and every day. While we sit here in our comfy homes, with comfy jobs and complain as we all do; think about them. Think about what they gave up. Think about what they are giving up today. And be thankful for those that made the decision to choose the line of work that they did. God Bless Them.
