Daddy's going to Denver tomorrow. He was asked by his Chief to attend the annual International Fire Chief's Conference in Colorado. We've spent the past week preparing for his departure which is to take place tomorrow morning. The children said their goodbyes last night when they went to bed and I did at 5 o'clock this morning when he left.
They've already asked for him numerous times and he hasn't even left the state. When we were at church this morning, Mason asked, "where's Daddy?" when I picked him up after the service. I told him that he didn't come to church with us, that he was at work and then going to Colorado, "Remember"? They wanted to sing to Daddy over the phone, wanted to call him, asked if we were going to see him today, and on and on.
So, I have my work cut out for me to keep them preoccupied until the other love of their lives comes back. :) We do plan to go to Pennsylvania mid week through the weekend for our family reunion. That will be a fun diversion. I'm thrilled that Tracy is getting this opportunity to get away. He doesn't get much or take much down time so it's well earned. He'll certainly be bombarded with lots of love when he gets home, that's for sure!
