Emma Grace had her first dentist appointment today. Our dentist's office doesn't see children until they are four so this was our first for LuLu. She was excited about it. When Madison and I were talking with her about it this morning she said something about, "when they take my teeth out..." and I gasped and laughed! Madison did too and then we assured her that she was just having them cleaned. She seemed just fine with them taking her teeth out though. ?!? :) Mom seemed to think she was thinking of my Dad's teeth (dentures) when I told her about it. Who knows what goes on in that little head of hers? :) She cracks me up.
She asked the dental assistant if she was "a nice one" because she hadn't met her when she was there with M & M before. When the lady was rinsing and vacuuming her mouth she abruptly said, "Done!" The lady was in stitches over her. She got two toothbrushes out of the deal because she was so funny and cute they said. Over lunch she told me that she never wanted to go to that place again because she didn't like that cherry toothpaste. I convinced her that the taste would wear off and she'd be fine soon. I think the fluoride that they brushed on was kinda yucky and that had to be left on for 30 minutes. She wasn't crazy about that.
It was a good day overall. On a side note, my current student, Douglas, is dealing with a setback and has been readmitted to Children's Hospital in DC. He's a great kid, 10 years old, and could use some prayers. Thanks in advance.
