Today's Blessing

I tried to bless a guy at McDonald's this afternoon. I took Emma Grace to get a Happy Meal. Yes, the whole thing with the toy! We usually just pick and choose off the $menu... She was very helpful on our trip to WalMart. When I was waiting at the window I heard a lady with a stern, loud, commanding voice directing this young man to "see those fries over there?! When they're done they can't just sit there! You have to get them up and throw them over here! Look, come over here. Then you find something else to do! You don't ever just stand around with nothing to do! You find something to do! Make yourself look busy but you don't ever just stand there!" As he was listening, he had grabbed a rag and started wiping the counter...

So, I waited for Emma's food and for the woman in the background to be done. I then asked the one helping us if I could speak to him for a moment. I asked if it was his first day and was told no. Had to have been his second...He came over with a puzzled look and I just said with a smile, " I just wanted to tell you that the day will get better. Remember that you're very blessed to have this job because a LOT of people don't have jobs right now." He nodded with a weary head and I continued, " It just sounds like she's giving you a little bit of a hard time but just be thankful that you're here and the day will look up. You're doing a good job." He said thank you and we drove off. I'll just pray for him that he will see that she was trying to teach him a strong work ethic, though her way was a bit rough.
