It was a pretty eventful week! On Monday, Mason and Tracy spent the day together. The girls and I went down to pick up Caroline and spent the afternoon at Va. Center Commons mall. That night we had the kids in bed and heard a call dispatched for a house fire. We both recognized the street name and I immediately knew the street address as our friends Dr.Bill and his wife Michelle's house. In an uproar, I called my inlaws and told them to come over, that we were leaving! It was very scary and they were very blessed that it was not worse. Their beautiful family (4 boys and a St. Bernard,Roxie) was out of the house and only the basement suffered major damage.
Tuesday, we had a family field trip to the Richmond Children's Museum. A grand time was had by all. Out of all of the interesting and fun things to do there, you know the twins' favorite thing? "The burp" This huge mouth, esophagus and stomach that you crawl through while it burps! It stinks and it's disgusting! THAT was their favorite thing. Weirdos, they are.
Wednesday, we went to Stacey's house for most of the day to have some time with them. Our kids were having withdrawals from not seeing each other. It was almost a week because of Jack's surgery. We stayed for dinner and raced home to make it for the 8 o'clock bedtime. We started that routine earlier in the week and I must say it is working out very well.
Thursday, we had no concrete plans. I called Raegan to see how the Open House went with Cooper at the Learning Tree. Cooper and Emma are going to be in class together. She informed me that they wouldn't be able to start on Tuesday without their birth certificates (which neither of their poor mothers ever obtained after their births). So...road trip to Richmond Vital Records Office. It was a nice day. We had lunch. Kendall and Madison enjoyed themselves too. Cooper was along for the ride being all noisy boy! :) Emma Grace's Open House went well that night! She was so comfortable that she wanted to stay. We were the last ones to leave the room at one point. I overheard her playing at home today and she was making up a song about,"I'm getting ready to go to school".
And Friday, Open House for the Kindergarteners. I SURVIVED IT!! I was very cordial. Tracy left work for a couple of hours to come down for it. It was SO nice to have him there. The teachers and rooms are nice and I'm excited for Monday. I think they'll be fine. I always work myself up into a frenzy when I know I should just let go and let God. We'll see how I am on Monday. No, Tuesday. That'll be the day that they are all gone. Emma Grace starts that day. How did it come to be that this all happens the same year? Yikes!
