Be Thankful

No matter what you do every day, be thankful. Be thankful for what you have. Be thankful for where you are in your life. Be thankful for who you have. Fellow parents of twins who are in our multiples club lost their 15 month old twin sons last night. They drowned in their tub after wandering back upstairs through a baby gate that wasn't correctly latched.

So many things have happened to close friends of mine this year. I've wondered why and what it is that I'm supposed to be learning from these tragedies. The year started in Oct. with the loss of my friend's baby boy at 36 weeks who was due to be born the next day, then in Feb. the loss of another friend's one twin girl at 9 months, then another friend's husband committed suicide in April, my sweet dog Sandy died in May, 3 year old Grace is nearing the end of her battle with cancer and now this happened yesterday.

Out of all of it, the biggest things that I've learned are thankfulness and patience. I don't care what I'm doing or what our day entails, there are numerous times in every day that I think of how blessed I am. I thank God for Him, for my children, husband, home, health, family, friends, and prosperity. Those are just a few. I don't care how crazy things are, I'm just thankful that our life is as it is. It could be different and different in a negative way.

So, my heart is so heavy for those who are suffering tonight. Mine is right there with you. As you see, I'm up at 1am. That's not typical. To everyone, love your spouse and mean it. Don't just talk the talk, walk the walk. Squeeze those babies and children and love them like it's the last chance you've got, every time you touch them. In all things give thanks.

Your words are similar to how Jenna viewed things as well - live each day as if it were your last, tell people how much you love them because you never know if it is going to be the last time you see them. I am definitely thankful for this life that God has given me, for the friends that the surround me, and for the family that teaches me what love really is. Take nothing for granted! - John
