Surgery postponed

Mason's surgery will have to be rescheduled. He has come down with something and is sick. I had to call yesterday and cancel with VCU. On Thursday afternoon he was 104.3 which was quite high but yesterday afternoon he spiked to 105.1! I called the pediatrician, gave him Tylenol on top of the ibuprofen he already had taken, and put him in the tub. Once we got him out of there we headed to town to see our wonderful Dr. Bradshaw.

He had a negative strep test so she sent us for blood work which came back with a high white cell count and a high bacterial count. So, she prescribed a prescription to start and was waiting for the cultures from the more thorough strep test. She also wants to see him again today and to have more blood work done today to see which direction it's going. She's not the kind of "let's wait and see" kind of gal. I like her a lot.

His fever was hovering around 101-102 through the night and into this morning so it's not as bad as it was. He's finally holding down his little bit of food and drinks so that's a good sign. Hopefully he's past the point of getting dehydrated. More later when we know something...
