"Being away from home and living in harsh conditions with combat and constant danger is difficult. Our troops need to know we have not forgotten them!! Mail from home helps to keep our troops' morale strong, making a very real difference in their lives. It keeps them motivated and focused when they know we care about them."
So, here is what I have planned so far:
1. May 25, Rolling Thunder Memorial Ride to the Vietnam Wall, I'll take cards with me and ask people to sign them there. I plan on asking a couple of private card shops to donate some cards to me.
2. June 4, Mothers of Multiples meeting, pack care packages for two of our Dads of multiples and one twin son who are deployed. We will also make out cards there as well.
3. June 7, 2008 Frazier-Mason Some Gave All Rally, GM Powertrain Plant, Fredericksburg, VA, see http://www.somegaveall.org/, I will have a table and tent set up with another Soldier's Angel and "her Marines" to pass out literature, recruit new Angels, and make cards
4. June 8, last day to collect cards from the congregation and any others at Spotsylvania Presbyterian Church, Spotsylvania, Va.
5. June 8, collecting cards from Riverview Elementary School, enrollment 709 students!!
Whew!! Any more ideas? Let me know!
